This was such a moving article. I learned so much about Rachel Carson and her work and life. And, I agree with the author of the article when they wrote: "How tragic to observe that in the half-century since, our so-called leaders have devolved from half-truths to “alternative facts” — that is, to whole untruths that fail the ultimate criterion for truth: a correspondence with reality." This truly is a tragic circumstance. If only the way Carson felt, the way I feel too, could penetrate the hearts and minds of our modern politicians and move them to act to protect our environment and the lives it supports.
