"We are all now stuck in a science fiction novel that we are writing together." Kim Stanley Robinson
"Where there is no vision, the people perish." Abe Lincoln
Write your script for Message From the Future III, after reviewing I & II (and Bill McKibben's view from 2050, if you like). Avoid redundancy. Add your own illustrations, if you're so inclined (and skilled); or borrow some from the Internet. Embed links in your script. Indicate what people in the 2020s did, specifically, to help enable (or hinder) the attainment of your vision of that future. Conclude with your message to the future,* and a brief statement of their vision for a better future for their grandchildren. Will they thank us for having been good ancestors? ("...seven trillion people will be born over the next 50,000 years. How will all these future generations look back on us and the legacy we're leaving for them?...A global movement has started to emerge of people committed to decolonizing the future...")
"We knew that we needed to save the planet and that we had all the technology to do it, but people were scared. They said it was too big, too fast, not practical. I think that’s because they just couldn’t picture it yet..."
