After discussing this topic with a close friend, he suggested to me that an increase in available conservation jobs and internships (specifically referring to Americorps positions) may be an additional solution to moving a younger generation to know and experience work in a conservation field. However, I made the illustrative point that conservation work is generally unappreciated and underpaid- regardless of the knowledge, field experience, or formal education of the workers. What are your thoughts on this?
