Course evaluations

The online course evaluation period will be open from Thursday, November 29th at 8:00 am to Wednesday, December 5th at 11:59 pm. Please fill out your online evaluation, and also feel free to offer informal constructive suggestions here (in "comments" below) as well. Specifically, do you think the course could have been more "peripatetic"? Or less? Or was our mix of walking-and-talking just about right, given the climatic circumstances? Should future report presentations be required to include a peripatetic discussion option? Should reports continue to be solo projects, or would it be good to have midterm collaborative reports from groups of two or three?

  1. In my opinion we could have had more outside/peripatetic time, I believe by the time we got used to it we sort of had to stop it but it's great when the weather is nice..
If we had more talking time it would be good to have group projects, but having the time to make friends or create a niche would be the priority first off. I liked solo presentations, we just would have had more time for class discussions without individual presentations. Maybe it would have helped more people to participate.
I personally really enjoyed the class and I'm going to recommend it to other people. It's a really fun class and I think there were a lot of opportunities for class discussion without the outside time, weather permitting.

  2. I think that solo projects was the way to go. If you want them to go a little faster maybe have more of an outline of the things you would like people to cover. This will help make sure people only cover what you want instead of going into so much plot detail, taking up more time. Also, another suggestion would be to have a sign up sheet that people can use to sign up for certain dates and presentation order. This would make sure people know exactly when they will have to present and will be ready to go on that date.
