Pollution Brick

Pollution in the world has become extreme. Since we have laws/bills in the United States to help defend against different industries to move in and destroy properties for its own cause, we can have natural and beautiful things. Well in some countries industries is what keeps the country functioning. For instance, China deals with a lot of factory pollutants with hardly any filters applied. So a local artist in Beijing, Brother Nut, where he started to VACUUMING the air. Sounds crazy, but for 100 days, each day for one hour, he was collecting so much pollution he made a brick with what he collected.  He created a pollutant brick.

  2. This is an interesting way to shed light on the issue of air pollution. This problem is rampant in countries with less regulation when it comes to industry. Studies have shown that air pollution causes health issues involving the cardiovascular, respiratory, and pulmonary body systems. I think looking at pollution through an artistic lens can bring the issue to the forefront of people's minds. It's hard to envision such a big issue, but when it becomes something tangible, like a pollutant brick, it becomes an easier concept to grasp.

  4. Fascinating way to make the issue literally tangible. Ironic that China may now take the lead in climate action, as the US abrogates that responsibility.
