  1. The Vulcan/Romulan conflict is interesting since it up against the backdrop of the crew of the Enterprise which is ethnically diverse yet waaaaay more inclusive than society at the time. There are two character that have always stood out to me. The show featured Uhura a women of color during a time where America was still largely segregated (I believe the show featured one of the first interracial kisses on TV). The show also featured Chekov, a Russian during the Cold War.

If the earthlings could put aside their difference to go boldly where no no man has gone before, we can too.

    1. It was indeed the first televised interracial kiss. Captain Kirk had more than his share of bold intergalactic encounters too. It was quite inspiring, to this dreamy ten-year old.

  2. Of course, the Vulcans and Romulans were cousins. You could see it in their ears.
