While the circumstances are drastically different from Costa Rica and larger more industrialized developed countries there are some things that can be taken and implemented from this. If the larger countries more responsible for the climate change in the first place tried going this route a real difference could be made. While it isn't logical to think these countries could go mostly renewable as quickly, considering Costa Rica was blessed with vast geo-thermal and hydro potential, the increased land size and differences among topography's could lead to a diverse electrical grid encompassing all forms of renewable energy.Which could then lead to vastly decreased emissions.
